Computer Lab

Nasiriyya resource center is equipped with 35 computers linked to school main server using a  fast Ethernet connection.  All computers in the laboratory are connected to the Internet. All  computers have CD-RWs, DVD players, and allow drive data storage. The laboratory is also  equipped with a LaserJet Printer which is connected with all the work stations. A variety of software of special interest to students is available on each computer in the lab,  including Microsoft Office, Corel Office Suite, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and other  software running under the Windows 7 operating system.

Objectives:

• To encourage to use IT, explore and being creative.
• To improve students, teachers and parents for global awareness.      Increase   students’ capability to 
• information through internet.
•     To increase knowledge and information as well as languages.

Rule and regulation

•          Nasriyya school computer lab facilities and services are primarily intended to serve the needs of teachers and students to facilitate learning.
•          Normal classes are ongoing according to the school time table.
•          Computer lab can be used in scheduled on the first come first serve basis. Get written approval from principle or deputy principle at least 24 hours before it use. Application form is available from school office.
•          Other sectors of community can use facilities and services provided the written application is approved by the principle.
•          Teachers should preview materials they intend to use and evaluate its relevance and appropriateness to the subject matter.
•          Pupils are prohibited to enter the lab unless authorized by the teacher.
•          Scan diskettes before using them.
•          Report all problems related to the system to the teacher.
•          Do not attempt to repair or tamper with lab equipment.
•          Be responsible when using equipment, software and facilities in the lab.
•          Do not move any equipment from its original position.
•           Do not remove or load any software into the computer.
•          Do not change the settings in the computer.
•          Save all work in external storage device and not in the computer.
•           Do not bring in bags, food and drink into the lab.
•          Turn off the computer accordingly after use.
•          Switch off all power supplies before leaving the lab.
•          Internet facility is strictly for educational purposes only.
•          Teachers should record the use of computer lab in the lab log book.
•         All users should record the use of computers in the computer log book.
•         The Lab should be kept clean and tidy at all times.
